2020 PROGRAM

The fifth edition of JFF is running this year.

But, due to the health restrictions, the festival will not be run as planned, during live jazz festivals. However we still plan to  screen selected and invited films in theaters. If restrictions are prolonged or changed we will adjust the screenings accordingly.

The selected films for this years program are listed here and the current status for the program below. As the schedule most likely will shift please note that all screening dates are to be confirmed [TBC].

SELECTED FILMS 2020

PINCHPOT, by Greg Holfeld (Australia 2018)

A short story about art and work, giving and receiving, life and death, and things made from lumps of clay.

NAO TAKEUCHI/BALLADS, by Kazuhito Takazawa (Japan 2018)

A musical short biopic of the tenor saxophone player Takeuchi.

EVERYONE HAS A PLACE, by Dennis Scholl og Marlon Johnson (USA 2019)

A musical short documentary with trumpet player Wynton Marsalis and the Gospel choir Le Chateau.

MINGUS ERECTUS, by Amaury Voslion (FRANKRIG 2019)

A musical tribute to Charles Mingus based on a collection of poems by Noël Balen.

CAIRO JAZZMANN, by Atef Ben Bouzid (TYSKLAND 2017)

Documentary about the passionate Amr Salah, who against all odds has established a recurring International Jazz Festival in Cairo.

THIS IS LOVE, af John Alexander (USA 2018)

A biopic of Rudy Love; the soul king of Wichita featuring George Clinton, Sinbad and Mick Fleetwood.

DAVE GRUSIN: NOT ENOUGH TIME, af Barbara Bentree (USA 2019)

Portrait of award-winning Jazz pianist, TV and film composer Dave Grusin featuring Michael Keaton, Tom Brokaw, Lee Ritenour and Quincy Jones.
